Due to an exciting period of growth, Kenny Waste Management is delighted to announce that we are recruiting a new Business Development Manager to join our growing and exciting Commercial Waste Division, covering Rochdale, Oldham, Bury and parts of North Manchester.

We are seeking an energetic, motivated and articulate team player to Join our Commercial Waste Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and retaining business growth opportunities within the Trade Waste function by obtaining new clients and fostering business relationships to increase revenue from sales.

Job Purpose

To be responsible for retaining business growth opportunities within the Trade Waste function by gaining new clients and fostering business relationships to increase sales revenue.

Principal Job Duties

  • Introduce new contracted customers to the business by means of signed service level agreements.
  • Develop and nurture effective working relationships with new and existing customers in person and via telephone and email communication
  • Source new clients and promote sales to them
  • Be knowledgeable about the full range of products and services offered by the trade waste function
  • Identify opportunities to upsell to enhance sales revenue
  • Cold call as appropriate within your geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities which can be turned into increased sales
  • Negotiate the terms of an agreement and close sales
  • Raise the company profile by attending trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations
  • Create detailed proposal documents, often as part of a formal bidding process which is largely dictated by the prospective customer
  • Liaise with 3rd party service suppliers
  • Review your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets
  • Gain a clear understanding of customers’ businesses and requirements and present an appropriate pitch to make a sale
  • Make accurate and rapid cost calculations and provide customers with quotations
  • Feed future buying trends back to employers
  • Attend team meetings and share best practice with colleagues.
  • Work closely with the Senior Sales Manager in the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies.
  • Help to develop a strong sales ethos within the team
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs
  • Handle objections by working through differences to a positive conclusion.

Experience

  • Previous experience of writing new client proposals and pitches which generate new business
  • Territory Management

  • Sales: 2 years (required)
