For more than 35 years, Kenny Waste Management has been providing reliable, environmentally responsible waste management services for businesses across the North West and beyond.
From our early beginnings as a family-run skip hire company, we’ve grown into a trusted waste management partner for organisations across a wide range of sectors.
Our Story
Kenny Waste Management was founded in Worsley in 1985 by brothers Edward and John Kenny. The business began modestly, when the brothers fitted skip-loading gear to a second-hand transit pickup and started building their own skips in their garage at home.
Within weeks they had produced their first half-dozen 2-yard skips – and Kenny Skip Hire was born.
At the time, John was training as a mechanic at a local garage while working weekends to grow the business. After passing his driving test and purchasing a second truck, the brothers began expanding their services and building their reputation for reliable waste collection.
Growing the Business
As demand increased, the company moved to its long-term base on Lester Road in Worsley. Over the years, the site expanded through several land acquisitions, supporting the company’s continued growth.
A key milestone came with the arrival of Neil Mackey, who joined the business from the demolition industry and is now Managing Director. Neil brought a strong customer-focused approach that helped drive the company’s next phase of development.
Today, Kenny Waste Management continues to build on its family business foundations while delivering modern, sustainable waste management solutions for organisations across the UK.

Our Core Values
Kenny Waste Management was borne out of Kenny Skip Hire early in the 2000s as the business developed into a total waste management provider, with continuous investment in our Material Reclamation Facility, enabling us to now process over 15,000 tonnes of waste each month.
In 2008 Paul Eagleton joined from the construction industry and focused on developing secondary markets for the waste we processed in our MRF, continually looking for the best methods for diverting the waste away from Landfill.
This developed our core values ‘recover, divert from landfill, recycle’, where the focus of landfill diversion means we are proud to report we currently have a 99% diversion from landfill as the leading independent total waste management business in Manchester.

99% of the waste processed at our Greater Manchester facility is recovered and recycled – and we’re working hard to make this 100%.
