What is Construction Waste?
Construction sites can’t operate without creating waste. This waste is a combination of undesired materials created as a by-product of the industry. Some examples of this are Bricks, Plasterboard, Wood and Metals
Kenny Waste Management will work closely with you to help you reduce, reuse, and recycle your waste. This is essential for the sustainability of the construction industry as a whole. Some waste, such as wood, will be split by grade and can be easily be recycled into items such as pet bedding or go to biomass. Other materials, including glass, can be reused for the reuse in another product.
Reusing Waste?
Reusing waste is positive as there is no environmental burden created through it. Recycling is key to reducing waste which can potentially end up in landfills, which is why Kenny Waste Management is dedicated to diverting over 99% of all waste that is processed through our state-of-the-art processing facility from landfill.
Waste that is produced through construction is a potential hazard to workers and the general public, therefore, it is crucial that it is constantly managed throughout the project. Construction Waste is an ongoing problem?
The majority of construction sites will deal with some form of hazardous waste. This is detrimental to the environment and can result in fines, if not managed carefully, and to the highest of standards. Disposing of it correctly is of paramount importance. Legally, hazardous and non-hazardous waste must be separated, and this can be complex.
That is why, here at Kenny Waste Management, we will provide each of your sites with a Hazardous Waste Toolbox Talk as well as the ability to fully separate all hazardous materials on site.
There will continue to be an increased focus on reducing waste and eliminating negative environmental impacts. Waste will be constantly reviewed and in turn, must be managed, therefore construction businesses must be more effective and efficient.
